Roles are used to control access authorization for users with a specific scope of functions. For the Portal, you need a role for the registration process and a second role that covers all remaining functionalities.
Use the A.30.03 Roles/Menus screen in Smart Materials to define the roles.

Type the role name in the Role box.

Type the role description in the Description box.

Click Save.

Enter MENU in the Menu Item box.

In the next record, enter SMARTPLANT in the Menu Item box.

Click Save.

Click Validate Role.
If the result is not 'No errors occurred', correct the errors and validate the role
again.
