This section is applicable only if you are using Smart Materials Web (formerly BIR - Business Intelligence Reporting).

Smart Materials Web Service Packs cannot be removed. If the Service Pack installation fails or if you face any problems after installing the Service Pack, see Troubleshooting for further instructions.

  1. Copy the SMatBIR folder to the application server where Smart Materials Web is installed.

  2. On the application server, open the SMatBIR folder.

  3. Double-click MAT_WEB_Setup_SPxx_v.v.v.v.v.exe (xx replaced by the current Service Pack number and v.v.v.v.v replaced by the current version)..

    If you are not logged in as an administrator, right-click MAT_WEB_Setup_SPxx_v.v.v.v.v.exe and select Run as administrator.

  4. Click Start Setup.

    Click the Installation Guide link to open Intergraph Smart Materials Service Pack.

  5. Type your username and company.

  6. If needed, change the default installation path.

  7. Select the features you want to install.

  8. Click Install.

  9. When the installation completes successfully, select View Readme, and click Finish.

  10. Open a Command Prompt window and navigate to the installation folder.

  11. Type the following commands:

    Set ORACLE_HOME=C:\oracle\18c_Sta\db

    Set ORACLE_SID=SMAT

  12. Open SQLPLUS /nolog

  13. Type @Install_SMAT_BIR.sql, and press ENTER.

  14. Press ENTER

  15. When prompted, enter the database SID, SYS password, M_SYS password, and BIR_SPMAT password, and press ENTER.

  16. When the prerequisites are ok, press ENTER to continue.

  17. If the Service Pack installation completes, check the logfiles in the \installation_logs and \import sub-folders.

  18. If you have customized any custom packages, and these packages have been updated with the Service Pack, you must do the following to restore your customizations:

    • Open the \installation_logs sub-folder and find the relevant file. Each custom package is stored in a separate file.

    • Use a development tool, for example SQL Navigator, to edit the updated custom package.

    • After restoring your customizations, save the package.

  19. As part of a Service Pack, updated JS/CSS files are delivered as static workspace file.

    To ensure that the updated files are used, do a hard reload (press CTRL + F5) on every browser used for Smart Materials Web, after Service Pack installation is completed.
