Events and tasks are used for expediting and inspection. The events can be assigned to expediting or inspection levels on the P.10.57 screen for later use on the working screens (see P.10.57 for more details). The tasks can be assigned to requisitions or tagged items on the P.70.73 screen, on the Expediting Tasks tab, or on the Inspection Tasks tab.

An event can be seen as a point in time on a schedule were a certain activity will take place in the supply cycle such as visits, critical documents, final visits (inspection) and so forth. Events are the interface points between you (the inspector) and the manufacturer or supplier, as stated in the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) that has been agreed upon between you and the manufacturer or supplier

A task is related to the day to day activities of an individual expeditor/inspector and can be defined on the Expediting Tasks and Inspection Tasks tabs of P.70.73.

It is a sort of electronic agenda that reminds an expeditor or inspector of the tasks scheduled for today. The advice is to create events only on this P.10.56 screen and let the individual expeditor/inspector define their tasks in the detailed tabs as mentioned above.

Events and tasks can be defined on the P.10.56 Events and Tasks screen.

To define an event or task, select ‘Expediting’ or ‘Inspection’ from the dropdown list in the Type - Exp./Insp. field and ‘Event’ or ‘Task’ from the dropdown list in the Type - Event/Task field. This value specifies an event or task to be used for expediting or inspection. Enter the event/task name in the Event/Task field and the descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields.
