Purpose

This section explains how to build the assembly idents.

Exercise

  1. Open the S.50.06 Specification Management screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.50 Specification menu branch.

  2. Click the Enter Query button to change to query mode, select TRAIN_1CS150 from the LOV in the Spec Code field, and click the Run Query button to display the selected specification with its details.

  3. Double-click the spec code to open Window 2, where the spec items are displayed.

  4. Select the assembly spec item (Seq = 15), and click the Next Block button to open Window 3.

  5. Click the Build Idents button. A message appears.

    • Click Yes to continue. Another message is displayed asking you if you want to update the assemblies.

    • Click Yes. A box shows how many idents were created.

    • Click OK. The idents are displayed as shown in the picture below.

  6. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.

  7. Open the S.80.01 Ident Management screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.80 Idents menu branch.

  8. Select ASSEMBLY from the LOV in the Group field and FLG-ASS from the LOV in the Part field.

  9. Click the Run Query button to display the selected commodity group/part with its commodity codes.

  10. Click the Existing Idents tab to view the existing idents for the selected commodity code.

    SHARED Tip For each ident, you can click the Ident Structure button to open Window 3, where the assembly idents are displayed.

  11. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.

  12. Open the S.70.02 List Ident Structure screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.70 Specification menu branch.

  13. Select TRAIN_1CS150 with the short code ASS-FLG from the LOV in the Spec Code field, and click the Run Query button to display the selected specification with its details.

    The assembly child idents are displayed in the second (Ident Structure) block.

  14. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.
