Purpose

This section explains how to define the object parameter for the assembly commodity code.

Exercise

  1. Open the S.10.04 Object Parameter screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.10 Commodity Group and Parts menu branch.

  2. Enter FLGASS in the Object field, select EACH from the LOV in the Unit Set field, and enter Flange Assembly in the Short Desc and Description fields.

  3. Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

  4. Open the S.10.05 Object Parameter Detail screen from the Fastcall menu.

  5. Enter 1 in the No. field, select NPS1 from the LOV in the Attr Name field, clear the Opt? check box, and select 1. Nominal Size from the dropdown list in the Kind of Detail field.

  6. Enter 2 in the No. field, select SCH1 from the LOV in the Attr Name field, and select 1. Schedule from the dropdown list in the Kind of Detail field.

  7. Enter 5 in the No. field, select ASS_NO from the LOV in the Attr Name field, and select Other from the dropdown list in the Kind of Detail field.

  8. Click the Next Block button to open Window 2.

  9. Enter 1 in the Nls field.

  10. Select nps1 from the LOV in the Layout Short field, enter *, and select sch1 from the LOV. Do the same in the Layout Long field. The result should look as displayed in the picture below.

  11. Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

  12. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.

  13. Open the S.10.06 Part Object Parameter screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.10 Commodity Group and Parts menu branch.

  14. Enter ASSEMBLY in the Group field, and click the Run Query button to display the selected group.

  15. Click in the Part field in the second block, and select FLG-ASS from the LOV.

  16. Select FLGASS from the LOV in the Object field.

  17. Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

  18. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.
