Purpose

This section explains how to create the assembly commodity code.

Exercise

  1. Open the S.10.02 Commodity Group screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.10 Commodity Group and Parts menu branch.

  2. Enter ASSEMBLY in the Group field, select ASSEMBLY from the LOV in the Rule field, select ANSI from the LOV in the Standard field, and enter Assemblies in the Short Desc and Description fields.

  3. Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

  4. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.

  5. Open the S.10.03 Commodity Part screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.10 Commodity Group and Parts menu branch.

  6. Enter ASSEMBLY in the Group field, and click the Run Query button to display the selected group.

  7. Click in the Part field in the second (Commodity Parts) block, enter FLG-ASS, select ANSI from the LOV in the Standard field, and enter Flange Union in the Short Desc and Description fields.

  8. Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

  9. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.

  10. Open the S.30.01 Commodity Codes screen from the Smart Reference Data > S.30 Commodity Codes menu branch.

  11. Click the Cancel Query button to change to input mode.

  12. Select ASSEMBLY from the LOV in the Group field and FLG-ASS from the LOV in the Part field.

  13. Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

  14. Click in the Group field in the first record (PS_PRESS_RAT) on the Details tab.

  15. Select US from the LOV in the Group field.

  16. Select AH from the LOV in the Detail field.

  17. Click in the Group field in the second record (P_MATERIAL).

  18. Select CAST_US from the LOV in the Group field.

  19. Select CG from the LOV in the Detail field.

  20. Save the changes by clicking the Save button.

  21. Click the Build One Commodity button to create the commodity code. A message appears; click Only CC.

    The created commodity code appears in the Commodity Code field, with the commodity code description in the Short Desc field.

  22. Close the screen by selecting File > Close All from the main menu.
