To calculate the transport costs at each level, transport codes and price lists must be set up. On the PT.10.02 Transport Costs screen, you prepare the transport cost control for traffic.

First of all, you must define equipment and material list (EML) numbers on the PT.10.03 EML Numbers screen to assign the transport codes to an EML. Next, you set up the price codes for these transport codes. Later on, you can assign the price codes to means of conveyance, release notes, preliminary packing lists, and (preliminary) packages.

In the first (EML Numbers) block, select the EML for which you want to define transport and price codes.

In the second (Transport Codes) block, define the transport codes for the selected EML, Transport codes are needed for defining price codes within the traffic module.

Enter the name of the transport code in the Transport Code field. The transport code descriptions can be entered in the Short Desc and Description fields.

Select the Cont indicator to mark this transport code as a contingency.

Enter the maximum x/y/z dimension of the cargo in the Max x/Max y/Max z fields.

In the Dim Unit field, select the unit of the x/y/z dimensions from the LOV. All units defined on A.10.12 Units of Measure for unit groups DIMENSION and LENGTH can be selected.

Enter the maximum weight of the cargo in the Max Weight field.

In the Weight Unit field, select the unit of the maximum weight from the LOV. All units defined on A.10.12 Units of Measure for unit groups WEIGHT and QUANTITY can be selected.

In the third (Price Codes) block, define the price codes for the selected transport code. Price codes are assigned to means of conveyance, release notes, preliminary packing lists, and (preliminary) packages to control the transport costs.

Define the name of the price code in the Price Code field. By default, the transport code is copied over when you create a new record. You can leave it as it is, extend this code, or overwrite it. The price code descriptions can be entered in the Short Desc and Description fields.

Select the name of the destination from the LOV in the Destination field. You can double-click in this field to open the P.10.52 Destinations screen where destinations are defined.

Select the the method of transportation (MOT) from the LOV in the MOT Code field. You can double-click in this field to open the PT.10.04 Methods of Transportation screen where MOTs are defined.

Select the name of the geographical area from the LOV in the Geographical Area field. You can double-click in this field to open the PT.10.05 Geographical Areas screen where geographical areas are defined.

Enter the price per base unit in the Price/Base Unit field. Select the currency for the price per base unit from the LOV in the Currency field. All currencies defined on the A.10.12 Units of Measure screen for unit group CURRENCY can be selected. By default, the field is filled with the currency assigned to project default ZX_CURCY.

Select the base of prices within traffic from the drop-down list in the Price Base field. The following price bases are available:

  • Each

  • Freight Ton

  • Volume

  • Weight

  • Other

Depending on the selected price base, the transport costs of a means of conveyance/release note/preliminary packing list/(preliminary) package are calculated as follows:

  • Price base 'Each' - Total quantity of the (preliminary) package (or 1 if assigned to a means of conveyance, a release note, or a preliminary packing list) multiplied with the price per base unit.

  • Price base 'Freight Ton' - Total freight tons of all (preliminary) packages multiplied with the price per base unit.

  • Price base 'Volume' - Total volume of all (preliminary) packages multiplied with the price per base unit.

  • Price base 'Weight' - Total (gross) weight of all (preliminary) packages multiplied with the price per base unit.

  • Price base 'Other' - Quantity specified on the transport cost detail level 'Transport Costs' (tab on P.70.74 Packages, PT.20.11 Means of Conveyance, and PT.20.21 Preliminary Packages) multiplied with the price per base unit.

The Base Unit field shows the unit of the price base. The unit that appears depends on the selected price base. If the price base is set to Each, the unit assigned to the project default ZX_EACH is displayed. If the price base is set to Freight Ton, no unit is displayed. If the price base is set to Volume, the unit assigned to the project default ZX_VOLUME is displayed. In all other cases, you must specify the base unit; for price base Weight, you can choose between the units assigned to the project defaults ZX_WEIGHT and ZX_TON; for price base Other, you can select any unit defined on A.10.12 Units of Measure.
