Multi-step approval can be set up in Smart Materials with approval sequences for objects such as engineering requisitions, inquiries, quote summaries, agreements, login requests, company profiles, qualifications, and so forth. Approval templates serve as pre-defined lists of approvers that are copied to the appropriate approval sequence. For more information, see Approval Sequence Templates.
Usually, an approval invitation email is sent to the first approver if the approval is initiated (for example, by selecting the RfA check box). As soon as he approves, an email is sent to the next approver, and so forth. If you set the project default ZP_PAR_APR to Y, parallel approval is enabled and invitation emails are sent to all approvers in the approval sequence upon initiation of the approval process – except for approvers having prerequisites, who will get the email only if all prerequisites are fulfilled.
