If you do not want to use the entire traffic functionality but just want to receive material against bills of lading (BOL) / invoice numbers or containers, you can use the P.80.51 Traffic Fast screen. Otherwise, you must define packing lists for a container and boxes for these packing lists. In that case, material can only be received against box line items.

The following information shows the differences:

Traffic Fast

Traffic Fast (P.80.51):

Carrier -> BOL / Invoice Number -> Material receipt

or

Carrier -> Container -> Material receipt

Complete Traffic

Complete traffic functionality (use of P.80.11, P.80.21, P.80.22, P.80.23, P.80.31, and P.80.41 screens):

Carrier -> BOL / Invoice Number -> Container -> Packing List -> Box -> Box Line Items ->Material receipt

The means of conveyance is specified in the first (Means of Conveyance) block. It defines the transportation method with departure and arrival dates and places. The transportation is typically arranged by a freight forwarder and is usually either ocean freight or air freight, although it could be any other type of freight as well.

Enter the name of the carrier in the Carrier Name field. Depending on the setting of project default ZP_CAR_UNQ, either the carrier name (ZP_CAR_UNQ set to Y) or the combination of carrier name, voyage or flight number, and ETD date (ZP_CAR_UNQ set to N) must be unique within a project.

In the Voy or Flt Num field, enter the voyage number or the flight number.

The ETD Date field shows the estimated time (date) of departure, and the ETA Date field shows the estimated time (date) of arrival.

The ATD Date field shows the actual time (date) of departure, and the ATA Date field shows the actual time (date) of arrival.

Enter the name of the loading point in the Loading Point field and the name of the unloading point in the Unloading Point field. You can select a pre-defined value from the LOV, which provides the destinations defined on the P.10.52 Destinations screen. If you enter a new value, it will not be validated against the list of pre-defined destinations and will not be added to this list.

The Name 1 and Name 2 fields can be used to enter the names of the first and second vessels.

To export traffic data to an Excel file, click the Export button. A box opens where you can select a template file and start the export.

P8051W5

The Template for Export field displays the name of the template assigned to the project default ZP_TP_TRFC. You can use the LOV in this field to select another template. The LOV provides the templates that are pre-defined on A.10.61 with type ‘Traffic Fast’.

Click the Export button to start the export. All detail data belonging to the selected means of conveyance (bills of lading and item shipments) will be exported to an Excel file. When the export operation is complete, you can choose to either download the created file to a local directory or to view it.

To cancel the export operation and return to the main window, click the Cancel button.

For every means of conveyance, one or more bills of lading (BOL) are created by the freight forwarder. The BOL describes the details of the shipment, including the weight, the volume, and the containers included in this shipment. The BOLs are maintained in the second (Bill of Ladings) block.

Enter the name (code, number) of the bill of lading (BOL) in the BOL Number field.

Enter the invoice number in the Invoice Number field. If an invoice number has been received on site, this field will be highlighted with a red background color.

The total weight of the bill of lading is entered in the BOL Weight field, with its unit in the Weight Unit field. All units defined on A.10.12 Units of Measure for the unit group 'WEIGHT' are available for selection from the LOV.

The Custom Clearance Predicted field shows the estimated date of the custom clearance.

The total volume of the bill of lading is entered in the BOL Volume field, with its unit in the Volume Unit field. All units defined on A.10.12 Units of Measure for the unit group ‘VOLUME’ are available for selection from the LOV.

You can enter dimensions of a single item on the BOL (x, y, z) in the BOL Dim field.

The total number of pieces (containers) for this BOL can be entered in the BOL Pieces field.

In the Custom Clearance Actual field, you can enter the date on which the custom clearance actually took place.

Click the Item Shipments button to receive material against the BOL or to see which material you have already received against this BOL. Window 2, which is described in Item Shipments, opens.

Click the Transportation button to assign transportation details to the selected BOL. Window 3, which is described in Transportation, opens.

In the third (Containers) block, you can assign containers to the selected BOL.

Enter the name (code, number) of the container in the Container Number field. With a double-click in this field, you can open the P.70.74 Packages screen.

The container descriptions can be entered in the Short Desc and Description fields.

The weight of the container is entered in the Weight field, with its unit in the Weight Unit field. All units defined on A.10.12 Units of Measure for the unit group 'WEIGHT' are available for selection from the LOV.

The volume of the container is entered in the Volume field, with its unit in the Volume Unit field. All units defined on A.10.12 Units of Measure for the unit group ‘VOLUME’ are available for selection from the LOV.

You can enter the dimensions of the container (x, y, z) in the Dimensions field.

Click the Item Shipments button to receive material against the container or to see which material you have already received against this container. Window 2, which is described in Item Shipments, opens.

Click the Transportation button to assign transportation details to the selected BOL. Window 3, which is described in Transportation, opens.
