Containers with their assigned packing lists can be viewed on the P.80.23 Container Index screen. Packing lists are created and assigned to the container on the P.80.21 Packing Lists and Boxes screen.

In the first (Containers) block, you can specify containers.

Enter the container name/number in the Container Number field. Container descriptions can be entered in the Short Desc and Description fields.

Select the name (number) of the bill of lading (BOL) from the LOV in the BOL Number field. BOLs are defined on the P.80.31 BOLs screen.

A container can exist before the related BOLs are created. Containers will be updated with the BOL number when the container is assigned to the BOL on B.80.31.

The weight of the container is shown in the Weight field, with its unit in the Weight Unit field.

The volume of the container is shown in the Volume field, with its unit in the Volume Unit field.

Select the container dimensions (x, y, z) from the LOV in the Dimensions field, or enter it manually.

Select the type of the container from the LOV in the Type field, or enter it manually.

The SOC check box indicates if the container is owned by the shipper.

Packing Lists

On the Packing Lists tab, the packing lists assigned to the selected container on B.80.21 appear.

The name (number) of the packing list appears in the Packing List field.

The name of the destination appears in the Destination field, with its descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields.

Select a packing list and click the Go to next Block button to open Window 2, where the boxes assigned to the selected packing list appear.

The boxes are shown with their name (number) in the Box Number field, their weight in the Box Weight field, their volume in the Box Volume field, and their dimensions in the Box Dimensions field.

Packages

The Packages tab shows the packages assigned to the container. If the package is assigned to a release note, this release note also appears.

The release note is displayed in the Release Note Number field where available.

The Package Number field shows the name/number of the package. The package descriptions are displayed in the Short Desc and Description fields.

The Quantity field shows the number of packages, and the Type field shows the package type.

The package dimensions are displayed in the x Dimension, y Dimension, and z Dimension fields, with the dimension unit in the Dim Unit field. You can double-click in this field to open the A.10.12 Units of Measure screen, where dimension units are defined.

The package volume (for a quantity of 1) is displayed in the Volume field, with its unit in the Volume Unit field. The volume unit is defined by project default ZX_VOLUME.

The Gross Weight field shows the weight of the package for a quantity of 1, the Net Weight field shows the weight of the material without packing, and the Calculated Net Weight field shows the net weight of the package, with the weight unit in the Weight Unit field. You can double-click in this field to open the A.10.12 Units of Measure screen where weight units are defined. The net weight is calculated as the total of all total weights of its package items. The total weight of each package item is calculated as quantity * item shipment weight.

Total freight tons of the package are displayed in the Total Freight Ton field. A total freight ton value of -1 indicates that a conversion factor is missing on A.10.13.
