The A.60.02.01 Create new Project screen allows privileged users to create new projects. Your current role must have the privilege ASSIGN USER PRIVILEGE OP. For more information about privileges, see User Privileges.

In the first block, enter the project name (max. 10 characters) in the Project field and a detailed project description in the Description field. The password is set automatically, and the project group must be selected from the LOV in the Project Group field.

If you have the CHANGE PROJECT PASSWORD privilege, the project password is not set automatically, but you can manually enter the password in the Password field. In this case, please note that:

  • Passwords must not contain quotation marks.

  • Passwords are not case-sensitive.

  • Passwords must start with an alphabetical character.

  • Passwords can contain only alphanumeric characters, and the underscore (_), dollar sign ($), and pound sign (#). Oracle strongly advises against using the $ and # signs.

  • You cannot use any of the Oracle reserved words (for example, SELECT).

Specify an initial record for A.20.06.02 User Securities for Projects on the screen in the Defaults for the User Securities section. This allows a first user to log on to the new project.

Enter all of the information that the software needs to set up a new project. All fields on this section provide a list of values. Then, click the Create new Project button at the bottom to start project creation. A message appears when project creation is successful.

Further, the create project procedure will create a log file, with the name CR_PROJ_<sequence>.log, where <sequence> is a sequential number.

After completion of the operation, the new project is available in the application under the specified name for the specified user. You can check it on the A.20.01.02 Project Information screen.

You can also check it on the A.20.06.02 User Securities for Projects screen.

When a new project is created, the user securities for the project are copied from the current login project for all existing users that are present/active in the current login project. The prerequisites for copying the user security records for the new projects are:

  • The Active check box of the record to be copied must be selected.

  • The role assigned to the user must be SUPER USER or the role that is assigned to the project default ZX_SUPUSER.
