On the A.60.01.01 Create User screen, you can create new users. Further, you can add and maintain requests for new users.

To create a new user, enter all mandatory fields indicated by the green background color. You can maintain the values for the optional fields later on the A.20.05 Users screen.

If you select the Global Access indicator for a new user, this new user will automatically get access to all product groups and projects for all disciplines. All disciplines will be assigned as queryable disciplines and all privileges are granted to the user. Further, the SUPER USER role will be assigned to the user; this role grants access to all modules, screens, functions, and data of the application.

The Email field can only be set by a user with the CHANGE USER PASSWORD privilege.

After filling in the information for the new user, click the Create New User button at the bottom of the screen.

A new window will open asking for assignment of user securities for the new user. If you select Don’t assign anything now, you can create the user securities later using the A.20.06.01 User Securities for Product Groups screen or the A.20.06.02 User Securities for Project screen.

Selecting the first or second option will open the appropriate screen where you can create the user securities for the new user. For more details, see User Securities.

You can check and modify the new user’s data on the A.20.05 User screen; see User Information.

In addition to creating new users, you can click the Request for Users button to open Window 2 where you can see all requests that future users have submitted using the New User button on the login screen. Users who don’t have the permission to create users can use this window to create requests for new users. For example, a project manager wants to add new users to his project, but he is not in the position to create users in the software. He creates the request for new users with all the necessary data, and the administrator will then create the users based on the information provided.

Before actually creating the new users, you can modify the data if necessary; furthermore, you must enter data in the User Group, Product Group or Project, Discipline, Role and Nls fields. Use the LOV (F9) to select the data from the list of available values.

This additional information is needed to directly create an entry on either the A.20.06.01 User Security for Product Groups or A.20.06.02 User Security for Projects screen. If necessary, additional user securities can be created later on for the new users by calling one of these screens. After you have selected the users that are to be created by selecting the Sel check box, click the Create Users button to create the selected users.

Users can request additional rights using the Request for Rights button to call the A.20.06.21 Request for Rights screen.

When all requests are entered, click the Submit button. This will notify the super user via email that you are requesting additional rights.

The super user selects the user who should get permissions. He marks the records by selecting the Sel check box and clicks the Grant button. The records will be converted into corresponding entries on the A.20.06.01, A.20.06.02, A.20.06.03, and A.20.06.04 screens. That is, the user gets access to the requested product groups and projects, and queryable disciplines, and privileges will be assigned.
