Project default ZP_MS_ACPD is used to control the Automatic Calculation of Planned Dates.

For the planned dates of milestones configured to employ any type of derivation rules, derived dates do not necessarily persist when the plan is recalculated. For this reason, an automatic re-calculation of the planned dates prior to displaying the data is the only option for ensuring that the plan is up-to-date and that updated derived dates are properly considered. The project default ZP_MS_ACPD controls if planned dates of a planning item (this is, a planned requisition or a planned tagged item) should be recalculated automatically prior to displaying the milestone data (either in the Planning screen of Smart Materials, or in the P.60.01 Tagged Items Planning, P.60.03 Requisitions Planning and P.60.05 Milestone Explorer screens in Smart Materials Classic).

If ZP_MS_ACPD is set to Y (this is the default), and given that the planned dates of a planning item are not locked by the user and at least one of them depends on derivation, then prior to fetching the milestone data of that planning item its planned dates are recalculated automatically. This ensures that date changes induced by re-derivation of planned dates (which happens automatically) are reconciled with the planned dates of successor milestones.

If ZP_MS_ACPD is set to N, then planned dates are not recalculated upon querying milestone data for a selected planning item, which means that the planned dates are displayed as-is. Planned dates based on derivation rules will be updated accordingly (given that the milestone plan is not locked by the user) but may not fit into the context of the other planned dates any longer – until the user manually triggers recalculation of the planned dates (via the respective button on P.60.01 Tagged Items Planning, P.60.03 Requisitions Planning and P.60.05 Milestone Explorer screens in Smart Materials Classic, or via the toolbar on the Planning screen of Smart Materials). While this option offers limited backward compatibility with regards to the treatment of planned dates by the system, it is recommended to use the default value for ZP_MS_ACPD and actively lock a milestone plan once it appears to be settled (last but not least in order to avoid further modifications caused by re-derivation).
