The A.60.31 Messages (NLS) screen can be used to display the warning and error messages delivered with the software. All messages defined for use in Smart Materials start with the prefix MAR- or MAG- followed by a five-digit number.

The Message Type field indicates whether the message is an error message, warning message, or informational. This message type controls the style of the message box that appears. The Alert Indicator option indicates whether this message is to be brought up in a separate alert window. The Warning Indicator option indicates whether a warning is to be brought up whenever this message comes up.

The second (Message-Text) block shows the NLS-dependent message text, cause, action, and hint of the selected message. The message texts are delivered with the software for the languages 1-English and 2-German.

The project default ZX_ADMLANG provides a way to have the help text displayed in a language that is different from your login language. Whenever a new language is created on A.10.01 Languages, all help text existing with NLS_ID = 1 (English) is copied to the new language. You are free to update and modify this help text. If the new (and administered) language is in the language of project default ZX_ADMLANG, all help text is displayed in the new language. Whenever a service pack or fresh installation is made, help text with NLS_ID = 1 might be overwritten. User-created data is re-imported and not overwritten.

If at least one user has unsubscribed from the message, the background color of the Message Code field is red.

A double-click in the Message Code field opens Window 2, which displays the users who have unsubscribed from the selected message.

You can add users to the list to unsubscribe them from this message. Or, delete users from the list to make the selected message available again.

SHARED Tip To find out the unsubscribed messages for a user, open the A.20.05 Users screen, query for the user, and then double-click the username. All unsubscribed messages for the user are displayed on Window 2.

If an error or warning message occurs in Smart Materials or Smart Reference Data, you can click the Help button to open a window that displays the message with the Cause, Action, and Hint text in the login language as defined on A.60.31.

Click OK to close the window.

To unsubscribe from a message, the user clicks the Show never again button when a warning message appears.
