The A.60.01.03 Change Password screen allows a user to change his user password. This is done in the usual manner: Specify the old password, enter the new password twice, and click the Change Password button.
Passwords must contain at least eight characters or numbers.
Additionally, this screen can be used by a user with the CHANGE USER PASSWORD privilege to change or reset other users' passwords in case they have forgotten their logins. The user’s password must also be changed in case he has entered a wrong password three times whereby his user account was locked.
If a privileged user opens this screen, it opens in super user mode. The privileged user can select any user from the list of values in the User field to change that user's password. He does not need to specify the old password.
This screen is also used for defining secret questions and answers. A secret question and answer is required for users for which the 'Password via Email' option has been set to 'Only with secret question'. For more information, see User Information.
If such a user has mistyped his password three times in a row on the log on screen, he will be asked the secret question. If he enters the answer that has been provided on this screen, a new password will be generated automatically and sent to him via email. With this new password, he can log on again without having to contact the administrator.
