For users that manage their own client machines, Smart Licensing Client can be updated using the small red dot found in the Smart Licensing Client interface. This is known as the Red Dot method.
If there is a new version of the Smart Licensing Client available when you open the Smart Licensing Client, a red dot appears in the top right corner of the Smart Licensing Client toolbar, as shown in the following image:
To update the Smart Licensing Client using this method:

Open the Smart Licensing Client by selecting Run as Administrator.

Click the vertical ellipsis
next to the red dot, and select Check for Updates.

In the Software Update dialog, select the Download button.

When the program has finished downloading, select the Update button.
When the update process starts, the Smart Licensing Client closes. When the update
process finishes, the Smart LicensingClient reopens.
