Smart Interop Publisher Version
16.2

Smart Interop Publisher can automatically correlate data from 2D and 3D Isogen data files when published to SmartPlant Foundation or a Portal target application. The data resides in the 2D documents. Follow the steps below to prepare your Isogen source files and then publish them.

Considerations

  • To publish when you select both SmartPlant Foundation and Portal targets, Smart Interop Publisher requires a SmartPlant Foundation version that supports portal file types. To find this information, go to the PPM Smart Community and check Smart Interop Publisher on the Compatibility Matrix. If you do not have a required version, the publish to SmartPlant Foundation operation continues, however, SmartPlant Foundation might not recognize the generated portal files.

  • The license client must be installed on the same computer on which Smart Interop Publisher is installed; otherwise, errors display upon attempted operations.

Workflow

  1. Generate and provide the following files:

    • ToolData_[Drawing Name].xml OR <Drawing Name>_ToolData.xml

    • MetaData_[Drawing Name].xml OR <Drawing Name>_MetaData.xml

    • [Drawing Name].PCF OR [Drawing Name].POD

    • [Drawing Name].IGR OR [Drawing Name].SHA

  2. Use the same file name for the related 2D and 3D Isogen files, and then place them in the same folder so they can be correlated. If the 2D and 3D files do not have the same name, Smart Interop Publisher cannot create the correlation. For example, Isogen1.sha, ToolData_Isogen1.xml, MetaData_Isogen1.xml, and Isogen1.pcf must be in the same folder when used as Smart Documents in Smart Interop Publisher.

  3. From the Smart Interop Publisher Projects View, use the default project ([site database name]_General project.
    -OR-
Create a project. See Organize Your Work with Projects.

  4. From the Smart Documents View, click Add to select the 2D Isogen file (.sha or .igr).
    -OR-
Select the folder containing the associated 2D and 3D data files of the same name.

Each added Isogen file displays in the grid.

  5. (Optional) Select the added Isogen file, and then click Revise .

  6. (Optional) If you have a password set up to SmartPlant Foundation, you need to log in. The SmartPlant Foundation Login prompt can also display if you do not have a SmartPlant Foundation account. Type in your User name and Password, and then click OK.

  7. Select the revision scheme to use from the Revision Scheme list.

Only revision schemes that are applicable to the configuration (plant) or classification (document type) are available in the shortcut menu. The revision schemes related to a configuration or classification are not available for any other configurations or classifications. See Configure different revision scheme strategies.

  8. Set other required options indicated by asterisks (*) in the Revise Dialog, and then click OK. The document is saved to the model database.

  9. With the Isogen file selected, click Publish .

Smart Interop Publisher displays the Publish Dialog. When multiple documents are selected, only property values shared by all of the selected documents appear in the table. Changing a value in the table changes that value for all of the selected documents.

  10. Set the Workflow to AutoLoadPublish so that the document is loaded automatically into SmartPlant Foundation. Otherwise, it remains in the queue.
    -OR-
From Operation, select Publish now to publish immediately, or Scheduled Publish to publish at a later time.

SmartPlant Foundation provides a message to let you know if the publish was successful. You can look at the generated log file in the generated ZVF subfolder.

The software publishes a 3D model created from all .pod or .pcf files in the folder [FOLDER_NAME] and the selected .igr and .sha files.

  11. When you have a new version of the source files, copy the updated source files over to the Smart Documents folder containing the original source files. Do not delete the existing .dri file in the folder. This can cause Smart Interop Publisher to not translate and publish the 3D model data.
