The Rule Inconsistencies dialog box is displayed whenever the rule engine detects an action in Smart Instrumentation that is inconsistent with the rules created in Smart Instrumentation Rule Manager.
Rule Name — The name of the rule as it appears in Rule Manager.
Inconsistencies — A brief description of the inconsistency.
Action — Displays the type of action Rule Manager performs when an inconsistency is detected. The actions are:
-
Error — Rejects user operation automatically and notifies the user about the rule inconsistency. This action prevents the user from continuing the operation when the software detects an inconsistency. The user must make the necessary corrections to fix the inconsistency before being able to continue, or cancel the operation completely.
-
Warning — Warns the user when a rule inconsistency is found, and displays the available solutions in the Solution column. This action gives the user flexibility in making an appropriate decision.
Solution — Shows the available solutions that can be used to solve the inconsistency. Solutions are only available when Warning is the selected Action.
Reject Operation — Rejects the action that caused the inconsistency, forcing the user to make the necessary changes to match the rule properties, or to cancel the action completely.
Accept Solutions — Allows the user to choose and accept a solution from the displayed solutions in the Solution column. This action gives the user flexibility in making an appropriate decision.
