Available from Smart Instrumentation 13.1 HF23.
This topic explains how to take the Smart Instrumentation preferences of an existing Domain, edit those preferences, and create a file (template) that can be exported to other Domains. In the Advanced Project Preferences you set whether the Smart Instrumentation users of the target domains can disable or enable a preference. For example, you can set the preference Automatic start of the last module as enabled. This means the user can select this preference to work or not, or you can disable the preference and the user has no choice.
-
Start the Administration module and log on as Domain Administrator.
-
With the Domain Administration window open, click Activities > Preferences Management.
-
If the Domain type is Owner Operator or EPC-Project Mode, from the Project list, select the project whose preferences you want to export.
-
Click Advanced.
-
On the Advanced Project Preferences dialog box, do the following:
-
To enable users in the project to set a preference for a Smart Instrumentation option, if not already selected, select the check box next to the option in the Enable column.
-
To not allow users in the project to set a preference for a Smart Instrumentation option, if not already cleared, clear the check box next to the option in the Enable column.
To enable the users full access to all the preferences, select the Enable All check box.
-
-
Click Export.
-
At the prompt click Yes to continue.
-
In the Save dialog box, type the name and the path to the folder where you want to save the .apref file.
-
Click Save, the Advanced Project Preferences are saved as a .apref file in the location and with the name you chose.
The advanced preferences cannot be applied to actions performed by the Import and
Export preferences of Smart Instrumentation.
