Before creating a site server, you must create, on the computer that will house the site SmartPlantV4.ini file, a local users group containing the users you want to have site administration privileges. For example, to create a group named SiteAdmins on a Windows server, use the following steps.

  1. In the Windows Search box, type Computer Management.

  2. Select System Tools > Local Users and Groups.

    SHARED Tip You can also type Edit Local Users and Groups in the Windows Search box to access this window.

  3. Select Groups in the Tree view, right-click and on the shortcut menu, select the New Group command.

  4. On the New Group dialog box, type the name and description for the new group.

  5. Click Add and, from the Select Users, Computers or Groups dialog box, select users to add to the new group. Each user added to this group must be a Windows domain user.

  6. Click Create to create the new group. The new SiteAdmins group should appear in the list of groups.

    An Active Directory group must have Security status and Global group scope in order to be able to work with Smart Engineering Manager.
