Click Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server > SQL Server Management Studio.

Connect to the server.

In the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio window, under the Object Explorer, select the server (top-level node), right-click, and on the shortcut menu, click New Query.

Type the appropriate query using the syntax shown, for example:
DBCC CHECKCATALOG ('Site_Server1_DB')

You must enclose the name of your database within quotes and parentheses as shown.

Identical syntax applies for the CHECKDB command.

Click Query > Execute.

View the Messages window for the results of the query.
You can save the results to an external file. To do so, click Query > Results To > Results to File.
The software automatically corrects basic problems. For more complex problems, you must refer to the query results and correct these problems manually.
