Allows you to browse to the site backup file you want to import.

Import file

Browse to the site backup file you want to import. This field is limited to 255 characters.

For SQL Server, the file path must be in UNC format.

Oracle alias or SQL Server host

Type the Oracle alias or SQL Server host name for the database into which the site will be imported. If you leave the Oracle alias or SQL Server host box empty when you browse to the Import file, the software will display the value stored in the site backup file. However, if you are restoring the site to a different site server, you must type the Oracle alias or SQL Server host name for the database available to the computer on which you are restoring the site.

System user

Type a database system user name. This name does not have to be the database administrator user name, but this user must have minimum DBA privileges to be able to perform Smart Engineering Manager procedures. See Create Oracle Admin Users with Limited Privileges and Create SQL Server Admin Users with Limited Privileges.

System password

Type the database system password.

Oracle system passwords cannot contain any special characters other than: @ ('at' symbol), . (period), and _ (underscore). SQL Server database passwords cannot contain the character: '.

  • After you complete this page and select Next, the wizard obtains the database user names from the backup file and determines if they are existing users. If a database user exists, you must delete the site schema and site Data Dictionary schema manually.

  • On an Oracle platform, if the specified system user does not have privileges for performing this action, on selecting Next, an additional dialog opens on which you need to enter the system user and password details for a user who does have these privileges. The information entered on this dialog is used only to allow the restore process to complete successfully; it is not retained in the database. See Create Oracle Admin Users with Limited Privileges.

  • On a SQL Server platform, if the specified system user does not have privileges for performing this action, the System Administrator can grant backup and restore privileges to a general admin user. See Create SQL Server Admin Users with Limited Privileges.

  • The Oracle instance on the computer to which you are restoring the site must contain matching tablespace names for all of the schema users included in the import file. If any of the permanent or temporary tablespace names in the import file do not exist in this Oracle instance, you must create the correct tablespace types and names before continuing the site restoration.
