Before you can begin sharing data with SDx2, you must first authenticate and then register your plant with SDx2 in Smart Engineering Manager. The software then maps a plant and all its projects to a single SDx2 URL, which points to one SDx2 Work Area.

When you use the Register with SDx command, you are registering an authoring tool's plant with the Work Area that you specify.

  • To create a new SDx2 registration, your administrator must create a new client in the Authorization server. Make sure that you have obtained this required authentication data from your SDx2 administrator before registering your plant with SDx2.

  • You must have Full Control permissions to register your plant with SDx2.

  • To support data exchange with SDx2, the software prepares the database to accommodate data sharing, during the registration with SDx2.
