Which components can be added to the scope of a CWA or CWP?

You can add published and non-published components. Spools and assemblies are not included.

  1. Open a CWA.

  2. Click Content Rules.

  3. To select components based on a custom search criteria, click the Query tab. Select a criterion and specify a search value. For more information, see Create and configure custom search criteria for Smart Construction.

  4. To select components based on saved queries in a model, click the Filter tab, and select a saved query.

You can save search queries when you use selection rules or the Get Objects by Volume option, or when you right-click a component and create a filter. For more information, see Select model or drawing components using selection rules, Get objects by volume, or Create and save a filter in a 3D model or 2D drawing by selecting components.

  5. Review your criteria in the Selection pane, and click Collect Components to add components to the CWA.

The components are added to the Collect Components queue.

SHARED Tip If you want to make a change to the collected components, click Clear Collected Components, and then collect them again with new or different criteria.

  • You can configure how often the Content Rules window of a CWP or CWA refreshes.

  • When you add a selection criterion to your package, the criterion does not get updated if the criterion is updated in the system. Remove the criterion and reapply it for the latest information.
