You can create IWPs, CWPs, or CWAs in the Smart Construction Work Packages browser window.

Select a level

  1. Click Work Packages on the project home page.

  2. Expand the Work Package Browser Navigation Tree.

  3. Select a level from the list.

    • In the Installation Work Packages tree, you can create IWPs.

    • In the CWP - Installation Work Packages tree, select a CWP or IWP level to create a package at that level.

    • In the CWA - Installation Work Packages tree, select a level to create a package at a lower level. For example, select the plant level to create a CWA; select a CWA to create a CWP, or select a CWP to create an IWP.

Create a package

  1. Click New on the browser window.

  2. Type a name or number for the new work package.

    • The name or number must begin with a letter or a number.

    • The name or number cannot contain the following special characters: * ' % ? "

    • The name or number must be unique.

    • If the ENS is configured, the number or name box is locked and displays To be assigned. When the package is saved, ENS fills in the name with the configured format.

  3. Fill in any other required boxes.

    For IWPs:

    1. Select a Status from the list for the IWP.

    2. Select a Construction Work Packages (CWP) Number from the list for the IWP.

      You can also type search criteria in the box and click Execute Search to search for particular information, such as a set of CWPs or a contract. Reset the search criteria in the user preferences. For more information, see Reset user preferences.

    3. Select the Discipline from the list menu for the IWP.

    4. Select a Purpose from the list for the IWP.

  4. Click Save.

After you create your work package, you can add more information to it like schedule information, drawings, or documents.
