You can configure the rules of progress configuration workbook to assign an interface and property definition to a component, based on the lookup values, during the rules of progress generation. All custom interface and property definitions must be preceded with a caret (^).

You must add a column for each property you plan to associate with the component. The interface definition must be defined in the second row, with the property definition defined in the third row. Values for the interface and property can be added to the lookup information. Create a column for each property definition.

In the following example, the Room property value is added to components based on their lookup values and class definitions.

  1. Open the ROP Configuration.xlsm workbook. For more information on managing configuration files for Smart Construction, see Manage Template Files for SmartPlant Construction.

  2. Enable the macro content for the workbook.

    1. On the Security Warning bar, click Options.

    2. Select Enable this content on the Microsoft Office Security Options and click OK.

  3. Select a rate table tab to open a rate table worksheet.

Add a new worksheet to your workbook, if you want to add a new rate table to define work steps.

  4. Add a new column to the right of the work step and purpose columns for the custom interface and property values.

  5. Define the interface definition in the second row of the new column.

The interface definition must be preceded with a caret (^), spelled correctly, using the correct capitalization. The interface definition is case-sensitive.

  6. Define the property definition in the third row of the new column.

The property definition must be preceded with a caret (^), spelled correctly, using the correct capitalization. The property definition is case-sensitive.

  7. Define values for the interface and property definitions in row 6 and below.

These values are associated with the component when the rules of progress data are generated.

  8. Add the interface definitions, property definitions, and their values as needed to each rate table tab and component class.

  9. Save your changes in the workbook file.

  10. Open the Main tab of the workbook.

  11. Click Generate Configuration File to generate the XML mapping to be used during retrieve.

  12. Verify the XML file generated to the location you specified when you checked out the files.

If generating rules of progress data for the first time, attach the ROP Configuration.xlsm workbook and XML file to the Rules of Progress configuration document in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client. For more information, see Attach the ROP Configuration workbook and XML files to the Rules of Progress configuration document
