  1. Click Enable Animation .

  2. Select an animation type.

  3. Select a date range for the 2D drawing.

    • You can select a date range using the bar by dragging the left part of the slider for the start date. Drag the right part of the slider for the end date. Drag the bar to the left or right to view different dates. The dates available are based on the dates associated with the animation type.

    • You can also select dates in the Calendar .

  4. Use the following controls to view an animation:

    Play the animation

    Click Play .

    Pause the animation

    Click Pause .

    Record the animation

    Click Start Recording .

    Stop the recording

    Click Stop Recording

    Save the animation

    Click Save.

    Select Retain Frames for Animation Recording on the Save message box to save files of the recording. If you save the frames, you can append new recordings to the previously recorded frames.

    The recording saves as an .AVI file.

    Windows Media Player is recommended to be installed on the workstation used to record and play an animation recording. For more information, see Smart Construction Hardware and Software Recommendations.

    Start from the beginning

    Click Beginning .

    Skip to the end

    Click End .

    Go to the previous day

    Click Previous .

    Skip ahead to the next day

    Click Next .

  5. Type a value for the number of seconds to animate each date interval.

  6. Type a value for the number of days to view in the animation, based on the date range.
