Click Work Packages on the project home page.

Select an IWP from the Work Packages browser.

Click Components on the open IWP to view components.

Click Expand or double-click a component name to view associated work steps. You can also double-click a component name to expand.

Click the Notes box.

Type notes in the Notes box.

Click on a component in the Components window to save changes.
Depending on your system settings, you may not be allowed to manually add or remove steps to a published component. For more information on this system setting, see Configure and update system settings for Smart Construction.
After you manually add a work step to a component, you may need to sequence the work steps. For more information, see Sequence work steps.
