Problem

Drawings and other files printed with SmartPlant Markup Plus do not print.

Solution

  • Verify SmartPlant Markup Plus is correctly configured. You must log on to the SmartPlant Markup Plus server as both the Plant application pool user and the SPFRemoteServices user to create local user profiles. And, you must start Microsoft Office products and properly activate the products. For more information, see SmartPlant Markup Plus Installation and Setup.

  • Use Component Services on the Smart Construction server to add SPFUsers to the Smart Construction server.

  • Enable Local Launch and Local Activation permissions for SPFUsers for the Smart Construction server by clicking Edit Default on the Launch and Activation Permissions section of the COM Security tab. Select the options to allow Local Launch and Local Activation in the Permissions for SPFUsers section of the Launch and Activation Permission dialog box.

  • Verify the SmartPlant PDF Converter 550 printer is set as the default printer. Smart Construction server installation installs a printer named Smart Construction PDF Converter 550. This printer is used to attach drawings to reports and should not be removed or used for any other purpose.
