What happens when I turn off the ROP queue?

When you stop the queue, the chunk of data currently processing is finished, then the queue stops. When the ROP queue is off, Smart Construction does not process rules of progress data as part of the retrieve. The rules of progress data is processed once the queue is turned back on.

Why should I turn off the ROP queue?

Turning off the ROP queue can help you better analyze and configure your rules of progress data.

We recommend that you turn off the ROP queue before you retrieve data in Smart Construction. After you turn off the ROP queue, you can retrieve your data in order to get all data into your project without rules of progress associated yet. You can load and analyze your rules of progress rate tables using the Rules of Progress Utility window to get an overview of what data is and is not covered in rules of progress rate tables.

After you configure your rules of progress, you can turn the ROP queue back on. Rules of progress data is processed and associated with components. You can then analyze and update rules of progress as needed.

When is the best time to turn off the ROP queue?

  1. Log on to Smart Construction as an administrator.

  2. Click Administration on the Smart Construction Standard Toolbar and select Rules of Progress Utility to open the Rules of Progress Utility window.

  3. Click the toggle button to enable or disable the ROP queue.
