The ability to view and manage constraints in Smart Construction is controlled by access group membership.

To enable a user to perform the following actions, be sure the role associated with that user has the following access group(s) associated with it:

  • Create, update, and view constraints - SPC_PlanConstraints

  • View constraints (no ability to create or update) - SPC_ConstraintsView

Because a constraint resource manager (for example, a scaffold construction manager) needs only to update a limited number of properties on a constraint request, a special access group can be used to restrict the constraint resource manager's ability to edit constraints in the system. This access group provides only the more narrow ability to change the properties that are required for fulfilling the constraint request:

  • View and update a restricted set of constraint properties - SPC_ManageConstraints

Smart Construction access group role assignments are managed in SmartPlant Foundation. For details, see Roles and access groups. To see a complete list of Smart Construction access groups and their default role assignments, see Configure access groups.
