On the ComponentCategories tab, you can specify if a component based on a certain class definition is to be replaced by fabrication. When a component is retrieved (or a component correlated to the component being retrieved) has a class definition marked as replaceable and a correlated equivalent component, it is replaced by that equivalent component.

  1. Check out and open the SPCRetrieveMappings.xlsm workbook.

  2. On the ComponentCategories tab, type Y in the FabricationReplaceable column to signify that the class definition specified in the EFClassDef column is fabrication replaceable.

  3. Save changes to the SPCRetrieveMappings.xlsm workbook.

  4. Select the Main tab of the worksheet.

  5. Click Generate Retrieve Mapping to generate a new XML file with the modified mapped properties.

  6. Check in and sign off the file in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client. For more information, see Map properties and generate XML for a SmartPlant Construction retrieve.
