Extensibility needs to be designed and developed specifically for the Smart Cloud HxGN SDx2 platform. Any pre-existing Extensibility implemented on another system will need to be fully analyzed to see if it can be refactored for the hosted HxGN SDx2 environment. Your regional Services team can help you investigate this.
Regional Services will help develop Smart Cloud HxGN SDx2 Extensibility. However, this hosted service is not compatible with any previously developed customer extensibility solution or any third party engineering tools and products that are not an HxGN SDx2 software solution.
Client Extensibility
Client Extensibility allows you to display and interact with external applications and display that data visually in the user interface. You can also independently build your own GUI to visualize data coming from HxGN SDx2, as well as automate activities to minimize your users input and increase productivity.
For example, you can use image maps to highlight an area of a site and view a piece of equipment in that area.
Server Extensibility
Server Extensibility allows a third-party server to communicate and react to application system events, as well as build automations and custom workflow steps. The main uses of Smart Cloud Server Extensibility would be the automation and integration with your system especially when you would like to connect to a third-party database system.
The Server Extensibility can react to these events and build automated workflows and custom workflow steps. Meeting with the sales representatives and Smart Cloud Services Team allows you to discuss your specific requirements to get you the exact Extensibility implementation you require.
For example, you can integrate with another Document Management Systems (DMS), which allows you to carry out file operations on files stored in a separate repository or document management system using the Server Extensibility system events.
There can be limitations when integrating with other systems. Any limitations that
affect running Extensibility in Smart Cloud will be discussed with the Smart Cloud
Professional Services team.
API Extensibility
A web API that listens to event messages from a sender, such as Autodesk® BIM 360, and sends them to an Azure Service Bus (message broker).
