Displays properties for pipe branches. A pipe branch feature is the high-level design object for tees and wyes. The branch feature contains the part information for the tee or wye.

The order in which the properties display in your view depends on your configuration.

Angle High

Specifies the maximum angle for this short code to be considered.

Angle Low

Specifies the minimum angle for this short code to be considered.

Branch Size

Specifies the branch size for this short code to be considered.

Branch Size Unit Type

Specifies the units for the branch maximum and minimum sizes that you have defined in the BranchSize_Lo and BranchSize_High columns. For example, you can type m, cm, mm, ft, or in.

Header Size

Specifies the header size for this short code to be considered.

Header Size Unit Type

Specifies the units for the header maximum and minimum sizes that you have defined in the HeaderSize_Lo and HeaderSize_High columns. For example, you can type m, cm, mm, ft, or in.

Minimum Header Wall Thickness

Specifies the minimum thickness for the header wall.

Reducing Fitting Short Code

Specifies the short code for the reducing branch fitting. This option is available only if you use a custom branch intersection rule for customized branch fittings.

You can create custom branch fittings using the Branch Intersection rule and the Single Piping Materials Class Template.xls file to create the specification. With the Branch Intersection rule you can define a reinforcement at acute-angled branch intersections, and the nominal pipe diameters for the intersecting pipes. The Single Piping Materials Class Template.xls file is available in the [Product Folder]\Smart3D\CatalogData\BulkLoad\Templates folder.

Reducing Fitting Size

Reducing Fitting Size Units

Specifies the unit type of the Reducing Fitting Size value. This option is available only if you use a custom branch fitting.

Secondary Short Code

Specifies an optional short code for this size and angle range. A value is required here only when branch reinforcement calculations are being used, and a size reducing branch applies. This short code represents a branch of more strength than the primary short code, but less strength than the tertiary short code.

Short Code

Specifies the short code to use for this size and angle range. The software uses this short code to find the commodity code on the PipingCommodityFilter sheet in the Piping Specification.xls workbook. If branch reinforcement calculations are being used, and a size reducing branch applies, this short code represents the branch of least strength.

Tertiary Short Code

Specifies an optional short code for this size and angle range. A value is required here only when branch reinforcement calculations are being used, and a size reducing branch applies. This short code represents the strongest branch.

Weaker Reinforcing Pad Option Category

Specifies short code for the primary commodity object from the piping job specification.

To use this option, bulkload the Sample Data for Weaker Rpad Selection.xls file in Append mode. The Sample Data for Weaker Rpad Selection.xls file is delivered in the [Product Folder]\CatalogData\BulkLoad\SampleDataFiles folder.
