Displays properties for pipe stock. The order in which the properties display in your view depends on your configuration.

Approval State

Specifies the status of the selected object or filter. Changing this property sets the Status. The display depends on your access level. You might be unable to change the status of the object. The list is defined by the ApprovalStatus codelist.

Smart 3Dx saves an object to the database when you change that object's status. Use Undo (CTRL + Z) to reverse the status change.

You can only edit or manipulate an object with a status of Working.

Bend Radius

Specifies the allowable measurement for the bend radius.

Bend Radius Multiplier

Specifies the bend radius multiplier for the selected bend. This overrides the default bend radius multiplier defined in the piping specification. This field is not available unless the Pipe Bend Radius By User option is set to Pipe Bend Radius By User Is Enabled in Catalog. You can find the option in Catalog under the Piping > Piping Specification > Model Options node in the tree view.

Geometry Type

Specifies the geometry type code for the generic piping. Valid codes are listed in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook on the GeometryType sheet in the Codelist Number column.

Hyperlink

Specifies the URL or local file path associated with the object. Click the hyperlink to open the page or object in your default browser. Point to the hyperlink to display the URL or path as a tooltip.

Description

Specifies the descriptive text associated with the hyperlink.

URL

Specifies the web address or local file name associated with the hyperlink. The URL must include the protocol, such as http: or https:, as well as the domain name. For example, https://hexagonppm.com/.

Industry Commodity Code

Specifies the industry commodity code for the part.

All industry commodity codes must be unique across the entire catalog.

Installation Man-hours

Specifies the number of man-hours required for installation.

Last Modified by

Specifies the name of the person who last modified the object.

Lining Requirements

Specifies whether or not field lining is required in this piping material class. If you set this to Lined, you need to define information in the Field Lining Thickness rule.

Maintenance Man-hours

Specifies the number of man-hours required for maintenance.

Manufacturer Part Number

Specifies the manufacturer's part number for the object.

Manufacturing Method

Specifies the optional manufacturing method code for the pipe. Valid codes are listed in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook on the ManufacturingMethod sheet in the Codelist Number column.

Materials Management Identification

Specifies the materials management identification associated with the object.

Materials Practice

Specifies the industry practice, such as U.S. Practice, for the materials grade applicable to the object.

Maximum Pipe Length

Specifies the maximum pipe length value associated with the object.

Minimum Pipe Length

Specifies the minimum pipe length value associated with the object.

Mirror Behavior Option

Specifies the mirror behavior for the object.

Miscellaneous Requisition Component Type

Specifies the classification of piping commodities, such as valves, for purposes of requisitioning.

Part Data Basis

Specifies the code that represents the basis of the dimensional data defined in the piping specialty part data. Set this value to recognize those components that require special treatment in terms of interpreting the symbol dimensional data. For example, the valve symbol is designed on the basis of a face-to-face dimension. However, the manufacturer provides the face-to-center dimension. The symbol can be designed to react accordingly on the basis of the value of this property. Valid codes are listed in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook on the PartDataBasis sheet in the Codelist Number column.

Part Description

Specifies the description associated with the object

Part Number

Specifies the identification number associated with the object.

Pipe Outer Diameter

Specifies the outer diameter of the object.

Piping Note 1

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 10

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 2

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 3

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 4

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 5

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 6

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 7

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 8

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Piping Note 9

Specifies standard notes associated with the object.

Primary Size

Specifies the fitting size (NPD) of the first piping point.

Primary Size Units

Specifies the units associated with the Primary Size value.

Procurement CIMIS Commodity Code

Specifies the CIMIS commodity code.

Procurement Client Commodity Code

Specifies the client commodity code.

Procurement Manufacturer Part Number

Specifies the manufacturer part number.

Procurement Vendor Part Number

Specifies the vendor part number.

Purchase Length

Specifies the pipe length to use when computing lengths of purchase length pipe (for example, flanged lined pipe or ductile iron mechanical joint pipe.) This pipe is typically purchased in a fixed length, for example, 20 feet. In some cases, the manufacturer provides a minimum length and a maximum length which you can set in the Maximum Pipe Length and Minimum Pipe Length cells. If specified, these lengths are used in the algorithm for computing the quantity and lengths of purchase length pipe for a given spool.

Be sure to include the units, for example 6m or 20ft. If you do not specify a purchase length, the software uses the Maximum Pipe Length value for the purchase length.

Requisition Number

Specifies the requisition number.

Requisition Type

Specifies the requisition type code. If you set this option to 6, then the software uses the commodity specific service limits that are define in Piping Commodity Service Limits. Valid codes are listed in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook on the RequisitionType sheet in the Codelist Number column.

Second Size Schedule Practice

Specifies the schedule practice. This option is only required if the Second Size Schedule is required.

Secondary Size

Specifies the fitting size (NPD) of the second piping point.

Secondary Size Units

Specifies the units associated with the Secondary Size value.

Valve Trim Practice

Specifies the parent category for valve trim standards.

Vendor Part Number

Specifies the vendor's part number for the object.

Volumetric Capacity

Specifies the amount of fluid that the part can hold. This value is required for the analysis of heat tracing requirements. Be sure to specify the units when entering this value.

Water Weight per Unit Length

Specifies the water weight of the pipe stock or tubing per unit length. However, this value is computed automatically in most cases and it is not always necessary for the specification writer to enter a value for the water weight per unit length. By definition, the water weight represents the sum of the dry weight (empty or shipping weight) and the weight of water within the fitting (pipe stock in this case).

The weight of water is computed automatically as the product of the density of water and the volumetric capacity per unit length, where the volumetric capacity per unit length of the pipe stock or tubing is computed as the product of the unit length and the cross-sectional area of the opening in the pipe stock, as represented by the difference between the outside diameter and the wall thickness, or as the product of the unit length and the cross-sectional area represented by the inside diameter.

Weight per Unit Length

Specifies the weight per unit length of the pipe, for example: 1.68lbm/ft or 28.6lbm/ft. You should specify the weight per unit length if you do not specify a density value.
