Displays properties for pipe curve features. A pipe curve feature is used to model arc pipes, such as might be needed in gas turbines or in the nuclear industry for carrying fluids.

The order in which the properties display in your view depends on your configuration.

Approval State

Specifies the status of the selected object or filter. Changing this property sets the Status. The display depends on your access level. You might be unable to change the status of the object. The list is defined by the ApprovalStatus codelist.

Smart 3Dx saves an object to the database when you change that object's status. Use Undo (CTRL + Z) to reverse the status change.

You can only edit or manipulate an object with a status of Working.

Arc Angle

Specifies an angle for the arc segment. You can type any value needed, provided it does not conflict with the defined specifications.

Area

Specifies the cross-section area for the object. This property is read-only. To change this value, edit the object properties in Catalog or in the corresponding workbook.

Auxiliary Treatment Requirement

Specifies the auxiliary treatment requirement. To change the options on the list, edit the Auxiliary Treatment select list in Catalog.

Rule Driven

Specifies that a rule drives the value. This is the default option. Click to switch to User Driven .

User Driven

Allows you to select a value. Click to switch to Rule Driven .

Auxiliary Treatment Type

Specifies the auxiliary treatment type for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Auxiliary Treatment select list in Catalog.

Rule Controlled

Specifies that a rule defined for a parent property controls the value. If Rule Controlled does not display, you can select a value.

Circumference

Specifies the length of the arc. The software calculates this length using the following formula:

Cleaning Requirement

Specifies the cleaning requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Cleaning Requirement select list in Catalog.

Coating Color

Specifies the color of the object coating. To change the options on the list, edit the Coating Color select list in Catalog. Smart 3Dx includes this property in the painting area report.

Rule Controlled

Specifies that a rule defined for a parent property controls the value. If Rule Controlled does not display, you can select a value.

Commodity Option

Specifies short code for the primary commodity object from the Piping job specification.

Created by

Specifies the name of the person who created the object.

Date Created

Specifies the creation date of the object.

Date Last Modified

Specifies the date of the last modification to the object.

Exterior Coating Area

Specifies the area of the coating for the object.

Exterior Coating Requirement

Specifies the coating requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Coating Type select list in Catalog.

Heat Tracing Medium

Specifies the heat-tracing medium to apply to the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Heat Tracing Medium select list in Catalog.

Heat Tracing Medium Temperature

Specifies the temperature of the heat-tracing medium. Include the unit of measurement of temperature (K for Kelvin, F for Fahrenheit, or C for Celsius, for example).

Hyperlink

Specifies the URL or local file path associated with the object. Click the hyperlink to open the page or object in your default browser. Point to the hyperlink to display the URL or path as a tooltip.

Description

Specifies the descriptive text associated with the hyperlink.

URL

Specifies the web address or local file name associated with the hyperlink. The URL must include the protocol, such as http: or https:, as well as the domain name. For example, https://hexagonppm.com/.

Insulation Material

Specifies the material of the insulation.

Piping

The software displays this property only when the Insulation Type is Specification Driven or User Defined.

Rule Controlled

Specifies that a rule defined for a parent property controls the value. If Rule Controlled does not display, you can select a value. This option displays when the Insulation Type is Specification Driven.

Rule Driven

Specifies that a rule drives the value. This is the default option. Click to switch to User Driven . This option displays when the Insulation Type is User Defined.

User Driven

Allows you to select a value. Click to switch to Rule Driven .

This option displays when the Insulation Type is User Defined.

The User Driven option is not active if it is not present on the parent pipe run.

HVAC

If you select Not Insulated, you cannot change the information in Insulation Thickness.

Select More to select an insulation material from the Catalog. To change the options on the list, edit the Insulation Material select list in Catalog. See Select Insulation Material Dialog.

Insulation Purpose

Specifies the purpose of insulation. The software displays this property only when the Insulation Type is Specification Driven or User Defined. To change the options on the list, edit the Insulation Purpose select list in Catalog.

Specifies the temperature. Include the temperature unit of measure (K for Kelvin, F for Fahrenheit, or C for Celsius for example) when specifying this value. The software displays this property only when the Insulation Type is User Defined or Specification Driven.

Specifies that a rule drives the value. This is the default option. Click to switch to User Driven .

User Driven

Allows you to select a value. Click to switch to Rule Driven .

The User Driven option is not active if it is not present on the parent pipe run.

Insulation Thickness

Specifies the thickness of the insulation.

Piping

Rule Controlled

Specifies that a rule defined for a parent property controls the value. If Rule Controlled does not display, you can select a value. This option displays when the Insulation Type is Specification Driven.

Rule Driven

Specifies that a rule drives the value. This is the default option. Click to switch to User Driven . This option displays when the Insulation Type is User Defined.

User Driven

Allows you to select a value. Click to switch to Rule Driven .

This option displays when the Insulation Type is User Defined.

The User Driven is not active if:

  • It is not present on the parent pipe run.

  • The Insulation Material on pipe feature does not support the value of the Insulation Thickness on pipe run.

HVAC

If you selected Not Insulated in the Insulation Material box, this property is unavailable.

Specifies the type of the insulation.

Interior Coating Area

Specifies the area of the interior coating for the object.

Interior Coating Requirement

Specifies the interior coating requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Coating Type sheet in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook in the reference data.

Interior Surface Treatment Requirement

Specifies the interior treatment requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Interior Surface Treatment select list in Catalog.

Last Modified by

Specifies the name of the person who last modified the object.

Length

Specifies the object length.

Nominal Diameter

Specifies the nominal piping diameter for the object. This property is inherited from the parent pipe run. The list is populated based on the Specification selected.

Rule Driven

Specifies that a rule drives the value. This is the default option. Click to switch to User Driven .

User Driven

Allows you to select a value. Click to switch to Rule Driven .

Outer Diameter

Specifies the outer diameter of the object.

Radius

Specifies the radius of the arc.

Specification

Specifies the specification of the object. This property is inherited from the parent pipe run.

Rule Driven

Specifies that a rule drives the value. This is the default option. Click to switch to User Driven .

User Driven

Allows you to select a value. Click to switch to Rule Driven .

Start Angle

Specifies the angle between the reference object and the first end point of the arc.

Steamout Pressure

Specifies the steamout pressure for the object. Include the pressure unit of measure (psi for pounds per square inch for example).

Steamout Requirement

Specifies the steamout requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Steamout Requirement select list in Catalog.

Steamout Temperature

Specifies the steamout temperature for the object. Include the temperature unit of measure (K for Kelvin, F for Fahrenheit, or C for Celsius for example).

Sweep Angle

Specifies the angle between the start point and the end point of the arc.

Tag

Specifies a tag that identifies the object.

Type

Specifies the path feature type.
