Smart 3D Version
13.1

Displays properties for cable runs. The length of a cable, from originating device to terminating device, is called a cable run. A cable run defines the relationship of the cable to other objects in the model, such as electrical cabinets, piping components, and equipment.

The order in which the properties display in your view depends on your configuration.

Approval State

Specifies the status of the selected object or filter. Changing this property sets the Status. The display depends on your access level. You might be unable to change the status of the object. The list is defined by the ApprovalStatus codelist.

Smart 3Dx saves an object to the database when you change that object's status. Use Undo (CTRL + Z) to reverse the status change.

You can only edit or manipulate an object with a status of Working.

Cable Diameter

Specifies the diameter of the cable. This property is automatically populated and is dependent on the value of the Cable Part.

Cable Part

Specifies the part number for the cable.

Cable Run

Specifies the part number of the cable.

Cable Type

Specifies the type of cable. For example, hybrid cable, power cable, and so on. This property is automatically populated and is dependent on the value of the Cable Part.

Cableway Length

Specifies the length of the cable in the cableway or conduit.

Class

Displays the object class defined by the software. By default, it is Cable Run.

Construction Requirement

Specifies the construction requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Construction Requirement select list in Catalog.

Construction Type

Specifies the type of construction for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Construction Type select list in Catalog.

Correlation Approval Status

Specifies whether the object is approved with discrepancies in the three-dimensional data compared with design basis data. The list is defined by the EFWCorrelationApprovalStatus sheet in the AllCodelist workbook.

Topology mismatch approved

Indicates that the object topology mismatch can be ignored.

Data and Topology mismatches approved

Indicates that the object data and topology mismatches can be ignored.

None

Indicates that you do not approve a mismatch.

Correlation Basis

Specifies whether the object is correlated to a P&ID object. The list is defined by the EFWCorrelationBasis select list.

Correlate Object

Indicates that the object has a correlating object in a P&ID.

No correlation is required

Indicates that the object does not have a correlating object in a P&ID.

Correlation Status

Specifies whether the object has been correlated to an object in a P&ID. The list is defined by the EFWCorrelationStatus select list.

Created by

Specifies the name of the person who created the object.

Cut Cable Length

Displays the total cable length. This value is equal to the sum of Spare Cable Length at Origin, Spare Cable Length at Destination, and the Estimated Total Length. The default value is 0.

Date Created

Specifies the creation date of the object.

Date Last Modified

Specifies the date of the last modification to the object.

Dry Center of Gravity

Specifies the location of the dry center-of-gravity for the object.

Dry Weight

Specifies the dry weight of the object.

EMI Code

Specifies the EMI code for the object.

Estimated Total Length

Displays the estimated length of the cable. This value is equal to the sum of Cableway Length, Tail Length at Origin, and Tail Length at Destination. The default value is 0.

Fabrication Requirement

Specifies the fabrication requirement for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Fabrication Type select list in Catalog.

Fabrication Type

Specifies the type of fabrication for the object. To change the options on the list, edit the Fabrication Type select list in Catalog.

Rule Controlled

Specifies that a rule defined for a parent property controls the value. If Rule Controlled does not display, you can select a value.

Hyperlink

Specifies the URL or local file path associated with the object. Click the hyperlink to open the page or object in your default browser. Point to the hyperlink to display the URL or path as a tooltip.

Description

Specifies the descriptive text associated with the hyperlink.

URL

Specifies the web address or local file name associated with the hyperlink. The URL must include the protocol, such as http: or https:, as well as the domain name. For example, https://hexagonppm.com/.

Last Modified by

Specifies the name of the person who last modified the object.

Operating Voltage

Specifies the operating voltage of the cable.

Option

Specifies options that you can use instead of the selected object, and then updates the object upon selection. If no options exist, this field displays Default. The Option list contains any options defined in the piping specification for the short code selected in the Short Code list. For example, if you are looking at a valve part, the Option list contains other valve parts, such as one with a higher-pressure rating, that you can select.

Originating Device

Specifies the originating cable device. To select the originating device, browse for the equipment, equipment components, piping components, piping instruments, and piping custom specialties from the workspace or model, or select graphically or using the label from the graphics.

Terminal

Specifies the terminal of the equipment . The availability of this property depends on the originating device.

Receptacle

Specifies the receptacle of the equipment. The availability of this property depends on the terminal port.

Connector

Specifies the connector of the equipment. The availability of the property depends on the selected receptacle.

Backshell

Specifies the backshell of the equipment. The availability of the property depends on the selected connector.

Name

Specifies the name of the selected object. If the name is too long to entirely display in the box, point to the box to display the complete name as a tool tip. If the name is not defined by a rule, User Defined displays. If this name is generated by a naming rule, Naming Rule displays. If you type a name in this box, Smart 3Dx automatically changes the naming rule to User Defined.

Parent System

Specifies the parent system for the object. Recently used systems that are appropriate to assign as the parent system for this object display in the list along with the Select from Workspace and Select from Model options. The most recently used system displays at the top.

The parent system of the object must have an Approval Status of Working before you can change the Parent System value. If the Approval Status of the parent system is not set to Working, this value is read-only.

Select Interactively

Turns on or off the interactive selection. When this option is on, you can select the parent object in a graphic view or any of the explorers.

Select from Workspace ICON Select from Workspace

Displays the Select Parent System Dialog with the Workspace tab open. The workspace is the subset of the active model database you specified when you started your design session. Navigate the hierarchy to select the parent system, and then click OK.
