This Quick Guide helps you upgrade to a new version of Smart 3D Web APIs. Complete the tasks in the order listed:

• Export the API config file

• Upgrade software

• Apply configuration after upgrade

• Change the number of services running on a machine (optional)

Good to know

• You will have to repeat some of these tasks on more than one machine if:

  • You have separate web servers for each API

  • You have services running on machines other than the web servers

• If you upgrade the Smart 3D software, you must also migrate the Smart 3D database to the new version. Otherwise outdated metadata will cause problems with the data model.

• After reinstalling the APIs, you can reuse the existing configuration, in full or in part, using API configuration files.

• If you prefer, you can upgrade using the command line instead.
