  1. Click Place Edge Feature Command .

  2. Click Select Edge , and select the edge of the plate or profile part to which to add the edge feature.

  3. Click Select Position Point .

  4. Set the Method box to Offset.

  5. Select the direction method to use from the Direction list.

  6. Select the reference object from which the offset is measured. An intersection must exist between the reference object and the selected edge.

    The software extends the edge by the specified offset distance to find an intersection if the direction is not Girth and a natural intersection does not exist. If the offset distance is not yet specified, the software uses 3m.

  7. Type the offset distance from the reference position in the Offset box.

  8. If necessary, click Flip to reverse the direction of the offset from the reference position.

  9. Click Accept to display a preview of the edge feature.

  10. Select Edge Feature from the Type list.

    You must clear Rule Based to select the edge feature shape.

  11. Select the edge feature shape from the Shape list.

  12. Click Finish.

  13. If necessary, click Properties to define properties and defaults for the edge feature.
