For an integrated As-Built environment, you can revise and then publish 2D document data and graphics to a connected HxGN SDx server so that other authoring tools can access the data.Smart 3D provides the following ways to publish:

The Publish to SDx command supports the following 2D file formats:

  • SmartSketch (.igr/.sma)

  • Smart P&ID (.pid)

  • Smart Electrical (.spe)

  • Smart 3D (.sha)

  • Aspen Basic Engineering (.zyq)

Before you can publish documents, you must:

  • Use the Register with SDx Command to register a model database with an SDx server. The Publish to SDx command is not enabled if you are not registered.

  • Revise and update each document. Make sure a revision scheme has been created. See Create a new revision scheme in the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client Help.

  • Make sure the Document Style, Document Type, and Document SubType are set for drawings. See Set properties for publishing documents in the Smart 3D Integration with SmartPlant Foundation Help.

  1. If you are publishing and revising for a Brownfield Smart 3D model in which the work area was retrieved from an SDx As-Built plant, you must set the active As-Built project in the System list in the main Smart 3D toolbar. Select More in the System list, and then ensure that the project assigned to the Change Management model is selected for the revision. For As-Built information, see Prepare my design model for handover and Create a Smart 3D Change Management model in the Smart 3D Project As-Built with HxGN Help, and Work with Project As-Built and SDx in the Smart 3D Project Management Help.

  2. Right-click a component containing one or more drawings, and then select Publish to SDx to display the Publish Dialog.

  3. Edit information as necessary for the 2D drawings. When multiple drawings are selected, only property values shared by all of the selected drawings display in the dialog.

  4. Select Publish for the Operation.

  5. Click OK to publish the selected drawings. When publish is complete, Documents have been published successfully displays. If the View Log button is enabled, messages are available concerning the operation. These messages include errors, warning, and informational messages.
