The following changes have been made to the installation guide.

Service Packs and Hot Fixes

Version 13

  • We have expanded on our software to bring you a sleek, user-friendly, and powerful 3D design solution. Smart 3Dx is delivered with Smart 3D for additional functionality and flexibility in generating your final designs. A new option has been added to Install Smart 3D Client Software to install Intergraph Smart 3Dx.

  • Added installation and configuration instructions for Microsoft SQL Server 2019. Also updated graphics and instructions to reflect support of Microsoft Windows Server 2019.

  • The Microsoft Command Line Utilities 15 for SQL Server (x64) is required on computers running SQL Server Management Studio. This utility was previously installed as part of SQL Server Management Studio in previous versions. However, in newer versions of SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft removed this utility from the setup, which is why this separate installation in now required. This separate installation is not required on the database server because the Microsoft Command Line Utilities are installed with Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Added installation instructions for Oracle 19c server and client.

  • Smart 3D now supports Intergraph Smart® License.

  • The Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service accesses the Smart 3D database and significantly improves the update performance. Changes such as new or modified objects in a 3D model are continuously updated so that downstream integrated clients such as Smart Construction can see the changes more quickly. (P2 CP:322350)

  • The Intergraph Smart 3D Subscription Service manages updates of passive scope objects in Smart 3D due to As-Built configuration object changes in SDx. (P2 CP:338219)

  • Added a new section that talks about how to Initialize the Microsoft SQL Database with Minimum Access Privilege. (P2 CP:371424)

  • Improvements to error logging performance have been made. You can set up Microsoft® Application Insights, a feature of Azure Monitor, to be used by the Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service for monitoring and reporting system messages. Application Insights provides rich analytics support and monitoring capabilities with minimal impact to client system performance. See Define Share Service settings. (P2 CP:376497)
