Deleting archive logs that are no longer needed is an efficient way to free disk space. There might be instances where incorrect deletion of archive logs can lead to potential data loss and workshare instability. To determine which archive logs to delete, refer to the Purging Archive logs section in the Oracle GoldenGate for Windows and UNIX Administrator's Guide.
We recommend that you do not delete archive logs until you verify that the backup log files are functioning properly.
