Displays options for editing a cutting surface. The ribbon displays automatically when a cutting surface is selected in the graphic view.
Select overlap surface
Selects a portion of the highlighted cutting surface that overlaps two blocks (the overlap surface). This option is only available when the Private Cutting Surface check box is selected.
Select reference plane
Sets the reference plane for the cutting surface.
Select axis of rotation
Selects an axis of rotation if you want to angle the reference plane. The axis can be any linear edge, seam, or profile system that is parallel to the surface of the reference plane.
Keep Relationship
Creates an associative relationship between the cutting surface and its reference plane. When the option is checked, any subsequent modifications to the location of the reference plane will also relocate the cutting surface.
Delay Assignment
Suppresses part reassignment when you edit the cutting surface. The software marks the blocks that still need block assignment. When this option is not selected, the software automatically reassigns parts to blocks based on the block assignment, which might take a significant amount of time.
We recommend that you run the block assignment process on delayed blocks before performing
further procedures. For more information, see Start the block assignment process.

To set the Delay Assignment preference, select Delay Assignment during Block Operations on the Planning Options dialog box: [Product Folder]\Planning\Tools\Developer\Bin\PlnRegSettings.exe.

You can override the preference by selecting or clearing the Delay Assignment check box on the ribbon when you split or merge blocks.
Offset
Specify the offset distance for the cutting surface about the reference plane.
Offset direction
Toggles the direction of the cutting surface about the reference plane. This option is only available if an Offset value is entered.
Angle
Specify the angle for the cutting surface. This option is only available when you use the Select axis of rotation option.
Private Cutting Surface
Enables you to select and modify an overlap surface instead of the selected cutting surface. Select the Private Cutting Surface check box to modify a portion of the selected cutting surface.
