The PlateKnuckleRule.cs class module contains the plate knuckle rules.

You can modify the following:

  • The knuckle manufacturing method, such as bent or split.

  • The inner radius for a bent knuckle.

The software uses the following convention to determine the knuckle manufacturing type to use as the basis of the rule:

  • If the knuckle is on the hull, the knuckle type is set to split.

  • If the knuckle is not on the hull and the knuckle curve is linear, the knuckle type is set to bend. The inner radius is determined by the plate thickness.

    • If the plate thickness is less than 10 mm, the inner radius is set to 50 mm.

    • If the plate thickness is less than 20mm but greater or equal to 10 mm, the inner radius is set to 100 mm.

    • If the plate thickness is less than 30 mm but greater or equal to 20 mm, the inner radius is set to 150 mm.

    • If the plate thickness is greater or equal to 30 mm, the inner radius is set to 200 mm.

  • If the knuckle curve is non-linear, the knuckle type is set to split.
