Smart 3D Version

This workflow exports geometry of a chute plate to SmartSketch Drawing Editor. This enables you to use 2D automation tools for adding wear plates. The software exports 2D geometry of a single chute plate from the 3D model. You can then use the 2D geomety to place wear plates.

  1. In the Molded Forms task, click Openings on the vertical toolbar.

  2. Select the chute plate system on which to place the wear plates.

  3. Click Opening Shape and then click Sketch 2D on the ribbon.

The Sketch 2D displays the 2D geometry of the chute plate.

  4. Click Edit > Select All, and then click Edit > Copy.

  5. Click Cancel.

The software returns to the 3D graphic view.

  6. Open Sketch 2D and create a new document.

  7. Click Edit > Paste and then Fit to view the 2D geometry of the chute plate in the document.

  8. Click File > Save.

A SmartSketch Drawing Editor .igr drawing file is saved in the selected location.

The geometry for each chute plate system requiring wear plates must be on a separate sheet in one .igr file, or in separate .igr files.
