Before performing the following workflow, you must open a design session in Smart 3Dx.
-
Select Interop Tab > Validate and Assign Parent Command .
The software fetches the orphan Smart Interop Objects from the model database and displays them in the Assign Parent Dialog.
-
Select the check box for each orphan object to repair. You can select any number of objects of the same type. If the software cannot reassign an orphan object to a new system parent, the Details column provides additional context for why.
-
Use the Select System Parent list to choose a system parent. Choosing Select from Workspace or Select from Model opens the Select Parent System Dialog so you can navigate the hierarchy to select the parent system.
-
Select OK to return to the Assign Parent dialog.
You can also select a recently used system if one displays in the list. The most recently used system displays at the top of the Select System Parent list.
-
Select Apply and continue assigning system parents as needed. When you are finished, select Apply and Close.
-
You can use filters to limit the display of objects. In the example, the Object Type column is filtered to display only Wall Parts.
-
The Select System Parent list can display up to five recently used systems. When you select a SIO of a different type, the software clears the recently used systems list.
-
Use Delete in the Assign Parent Dialog to delete selected orphan objects. Doing so is quicker and more efficient than using the Home Tab > Delete Command or the DELETE key.
-
The Delete option is available only when you select one or more orphan objects in the grid.
