Constraints maintain the relative physical relationships between equipment and other geometry in the model. You can define one or more constraints between geometry on the equipment and geometry in the model. The constraints can be used to initially place the equipment or to modify the position of existing equipment. These constraints are maintained as you edit your design.

Constraints control equipment positions, therefore you can only move the equipment subject to the constraints defined. For example, if you mate (constrain) the bottom of a pump to a slab, then you can move the pump around on the slab but not vertically off the slab.
