  1. Click Select .

  2. Select the volume for which you want to modify the cross-section.

  3. On the ribbon, click Cross-Section to display the Properties dialog.

  4. On the Cross-Section tab, select Sketch in the Cross-Section list.

  5. Click OK.

    The software converts the standard cross-section to a sketched cross-section. The shape of the original cross-section is broken down into the segments and points that define the path of the cross-section.

  6. Modify a sketched cross-section as needed.

  • When you convert a standard cross-section to a sketch, the properties for the sketched cross-section include the coordinates, the turn type, and values for each point that define the cross-sectional path. See Sketch Properties Dialog.

  • You cannot modify the properties of a sketched cross-section in the Properties dialog. Instead, you must make changes to the path that defines the cross-sectional sketch.
