The software provides several ways to view fileset data. You can view details regarding input data at both the pipeline and component levels. You can also view the contents of text-based files using your default text editor.
Main window
When the File Set tab is active in the Main window, the software displays an overview of the current fileset.
1 --Tree View
The tree view on the left side of the Main window displays the piping data files that make up the current fileset. The tree view arranges the files according to the grouping criteria you specified when you created the fileset definition.
2 - Content View
The Content view on the right side of the Main window displays the fileset. You can use the commands on the View menu and the toolbar to control how the data displays.
Pipe Details window
Whereas the Main window lets you to examine input data only at the pipeline level, the Pipe Details window lets you to examine input data all the way down to the component level. The Pipe Details command opens up a separate window where you can view information regarding attributes, coordinates, and keypoints for all of the pipes and piping components that make up a specific pipeline.
As with the Main window, the Pipe Details window is divided into two sections.
-
1 - -Tree View
The left side of the Pipe Details windows displays a tree view of all the pipe and piping components that make up a specific pipeline. You can browse the tree view in the Pipe Details window to locate specific piping and component items.
-
2 -- 3D View
The right side of the Pipe Details window displays a graphical representation of the contents in the tree view. Any item that you select in the tree view is highlighted in red in the 3D view. You can also double-click an object in the 3D view, and the software highlights the object in both the 3D view and the tree view.
You can control how the software displays graphical data using the commands on the View menu, the toolbar and the short-cut menu.
You can access the shortcut menu by right-clicking an object.
Text-based files
Some files, such as PCFs and IDFs, files are text-based. As such, you must view their contents using a text editor. The View Text command opens your default text editor so that you can view the contents of these types of files.
Refreshing fileset data
If any of the input files used to create the fileset definition are modified outside of I-Tools after you created or opened the fileset, you can quickly update the fileset to reflect those changes.
