By default, all the components in the selected catalog display when you first open Alias Catalogue Viewer. Use the toolbar that runs across the top of the Catalogue Viewer to filter the contents so that only components or a specific type or that belong to a specific component group are displayed.

Filter by component group

The toolbar buttons enable you to filter the catalog to only display that component group in the list.

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only pipe.

Place Fittings

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only fittings.

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only flanges.

SPIso ICON Gasket

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only gaskets.

SPIso ICON Valve

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only valves.

SPIso ICON Instrument

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only instruments.

SPIso ICON Miscellaneous

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only miscellaneous items.

SPIso ICON Support

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only supports.

SPIso ICON Place Bolt

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only bolts.

SPIso ICON Weld

Limits the display of components in the current catalog to only welds.

  • Click the toolbar button that corresponds to the component group to view. For example, click Valve SPIso ICON Valve to view only valve components.

    The Component list updates to only display valve components.

Filter by component type

The list box at the base of the Component list allows you to filter the catalog based on component type.

  • Select the component type to view. For example, click Angle Valve to view only the angle valves that are in the current catalog.

    The Component list updates to display only the angle valves that are available in the current catalog.

The toolbar buttons used in the Alias Catalogue Viewer are also used in Smart Isometrics for sketching pipe and for the placement of the component types.
